Tonight we held the first FluidicMEMS event, gathering together ~50 members of the Boston-area microfluidics community to meet, eat, drink, and discuss all things related to microfluidics. We were generously sponsored by Polychromix and hosted by Microsoft NERD. It was exciting to see so many from academia and industry engaging in discussions and making new connections.
Claros Diagnostics founders COO David Steinmiller and CTO Vincent Linder gave a fantastic talk about their experiences with commercializing a microfluidic technology — point-of-care immunoassay blood tests. We were also lucky to have in attendance MIT Professor Emeritus Stephen Senturia, a pioneer of the MEMS field and founder/Chairman of Polychromix. Many thanks also to fellow event organizers Joost Bonsen of the MIT Media Lab and John Mills of MIT’s Innovations in International Health.
If you are in the Boston/New England area and would be interested in attending a future event like this, please drop us a line.
